#TakeBackTheOnesie Contest
The adult onesie trend has taken a hold of people across our county, and we can understand why: they are quick, comfortable, and take away the stress of actually planning an outfit. Here at the Stratford Family Health Team, we want to celebrate the original trendsetters of the onesie: your baby! From July 25 to August 7, the Stratford Family Health Team (SFHT) will be hosting a Onesie Slogan contest, #TakeBackTheOnesie, in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week (August 1-7). We want YOU to send us your best slogans and taglines about breastfeeding, and the winner will be announced on the SFHT Facebook page. They will also receive a $100 gift certificate to go shopping downtown Stratford. The contest is open to everyone, so the only limit is your creativity. Help us #TakeBackTheOnesie, because let’s face it: nothing is cuter than a baby.
World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) promotes breastfeeding as a key element to your baby’s healthy start. An educated decision to breastfeed your baby can make a huge difference as a sustainable and environmentally friendly practice. To find out more about breastfeeding sustainability and other 2016 themes, head to www.worldbreastfeedingweek.org.
At the Stratford Family Health Team, we are committed to the well-being of mothers and newborns and provide resources and community support for pregnant or breastfeeding parents. Current programming includes 1-1 breastfeeding support with our lactation consultant, Andrea Thompson. Every mother’s experience with breastfeeding is different, and a private appointment to discuss any questions or concerns with an expert can make a huge difference. Other programs include the Prenatal Wellness Program, Wellness for Tots Program, and Wellness for Babies Program. This year, we are happy to announce the addition of the Prenatal Wellness Program to our services. This program is designed for pregnant women and their partners who have questions or would like more information or community resources on any aspect of your pregnancy, labour, delivery and after birth. The winning onesie design will be included in the Welcome Baby Package given out to the expecting mothers enrolled in this program. To book an appointment, please contact the SFHT at 519-273-7017.
